Your love persists despite my unfaithfulness;
Your goodness is stronger than my stubbornness;
The love songs You have sung to my heart have won my heart and soul.
I am Yours forever for I am inundated by Your love;
In Your sea of love, You find me alive and breathing.
To You alone, I dedicate my heart and soul;
To You alone, I dedicate my newborn life.
You have searched me, O God, and have known me;
You have knit my inmost being in my mother’s womb;
You know my iniquities even before I think of them.
Where shall I run away from Your breathtaking presence?
Shall I go to the deepest cave in which You have dug out with Your finger?
Or shall I hide in the ocean where Your palm has covered it with dark waters?
Where can I go, Father, except back into Your open arms?
Oh, Father, to be loved by You and to be known by You!
To wake from birth and realize that You have created me only to love me and to make me lovable!
To be comforted every step of the way and be assured that You know my deepest sighs.
What is man that You are mindful of him?
What is the son of man that You care for him?
You have made him a little lower than the angels and have placed him over Your creation.
How is it that Your love is so great that You call me Your child?
O Father,
I do not deserve any of this.
I deserve none of Your goodness and mercy and everything of Your righteous wrath.
Take my life away if that is what I’m destined for, but if You have given me a second life–an eternal life through Your Son Jesus Christ–then, Father, grant me this request and this request only:
That all the days of my life from now onward,
I may spend them in Your glory, in Your fellowship.
To be with You every single day of my life is my request, Father.
